Video Of Nigerian GTBank MD Assaulting Bank Staff In Liberia Trending Online
The video footage that captured the moment Nigerian man and Managing Director of Guaranty Trust (GT) Bank in Liberia, Ayodeji Bejide, was seen assaulting a staff of the bank named Edward Freeman, on Tuesday has surfaced online.
According to report, Bejide has since been arrested by the police for the assault after he was invited to the police headquarters with Edward Freeman, who was told to seek medical attention while the MD was detained.
In a video, circulating on social media, Freeman was seen with a bloody lip after Bejide allegedly threw a calculator at him during a disagreement at the bank’s 13th Street head office in Sinkor, Monrovia. It was gathered that Freeman was assaulted for not submitting a report on time as mandated by Bejide, following a review of the Board of Directors in its August 2018 sitting.
While speaking on the incident, a former GT Bank Liberia employee noted that Bejide is noted for verbal assaults against employees, especially Liberians. While a female employee who disclosed that she resigned because of Bejide’s behavior, especially toward female staffers said Bejide looks down on employees and senior staffers as though they are his kids, and address them however he feels, in spite of one’s assignment and status.
