Beautiful Lady Stabbed To Death By Robbers While Trying To Snatch Her Phone (Photos)

This is quite sad. A young woman, Jasmine Precious John has reportedly lost her life in a most sad manner after being stabbed during a robbery attempt by two criminals.

The graduate of Kaduna State University, KASU, who's based in Abuja, was killed after the two armed robbers approached her and tried to snatch her phone.

When she refused, the robbers stabbed her in the chest before fleeing the scene with her phone.

Lamenting over the sad incident on Facebook, a friend of the dead lady wrote:

"She closed from the shop in the evening yesterday, walked to the road side to board a bike home, little did she know that yesterday was her last day.

Two boys, real sons of belial, approached her and asked her to surrender her phone. For asking “why”?, she was stabbed with a knife on the chest. She slumped there and the two emissaries of satan dispossessed her of the phone and ran away.

May they never know peace until they repent!

Nigeria Needs A Leader Who Can Heal Deep Wounds, Not Another Buhari - Atiku

While speaking in an exclusive interview with TheBoss Newspaper publisher, Dele Momodu, former vice-president, Atiku Abubakar, disclosed that Nigeria “urgently” needs a leader who can unite the country and heal deep wounds, adding that President Buhari is not the one.

He said Nigeria is bleeding dangerously because the President has polarised the country, adding that the APC-led government has lost total grip on all aspects of governance and that Buhari appears to be totally confused.

He said; “Therefore, the leader Nigeria needs urgently is one who can unite the country and heal the deep wounds, not another Buhari who would further divide Nigeria and deepen the wounds."

Speaking further on his credibility as a leader that Nigeria truely needs, he said; “Check my records Dele, my office as vice president reflected the best of Nigeria; the guys were young and vibrant, and I gave them the wings to fly.”

On the public perception that he is a corrupt leader, Atiku insisted that he has never stolen public funds.

He said: “I have thrown the challenge repeatedly that anyone who has any corrupt charges against me should come forward. I never stole government money. Do you think President Obasanjo would not have exposed me if there was any such act of stealing?”

“The youths have every right to ask and be answered convincingly. The youths of today are confident and bold. No leader can treat them as nobody. But in my case, they have been lied to about Atiku and fed with a lot of propaganda.

"I applied to America for visa which was not granted. A man who is afraid of being arrested won’t go near the American embassy, it is simple logic.

“If America says come today, I will board the flight and go there soonest. Perhaps, America was fed with lies about me. It is normal in politics. The Indian and Kenyan leaders could not visit America at a time. America is not like Nigeria where we convict people on the pages of newspapers.”

While speaking on his plans for the economy and his business dealings, he said, “I will definitely create an enabling environment for our business icons and young entrepreneurs to thrive.

"What I see today in this government is the promotion of poverty and the glorification of backwardness. How can a government be gloating that they are fighting corruption when thousands, if not millions, are losing jobs and even their lives?

"Nigeria has to be managed as serious business and I’m certainly equipped in that aspect more than any other.”

We Derive Pleasure In Kidnapping, Defiling Old Women - Arrested Suspect

A suspected kidnapper, Nnamdi Ethelbert, Ogidi, has been arrested by detectives attached to the Anti-kidnapping Squad, Imo State Police Command.

Ogidi has a record of kidnapping elderly women.

The 34-year-old confessed that he and his gang members who are currently at large have abducted several persons out of which 15 of them were elderly women.

Ogidi was arrested after he kidnapped 74-year-old Regina Nkwocha, from Umuanyika, Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of the state.

They had entered negotiation for N20million ransom when detectives busted their hideout at Umuaguma in Owerri west, Imo state on May 23, 2018. Ogidi was arrested while the other members of his gang escaped.

The state Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi told Daily Sun that the suspect, Ogidi popularly known as Bori and his gang members have been on the wanted list of the police over several cases of kidnapping.

The Police Commissioner explained that back in November 29, 2017, Ogidi and his gang kidnapped Adulphus Akagha aged 94; on May 7, 2018, they kidnapped 65-year-old Dorothy Nkwo and demanded for N5million ransom.

She was later released after the family paid N500,000.

He stated that Ogidi had successfully kidnapped Mrs. Nkwocha and was negotiating for a N20million ransom when detectives led by Supol Sani Ahmed stormed their hideout and rescued the victim.

At the police station, Ogidi confessed that he joined the gang of kidnappers five years ago. “I am from Imo State and after dropping out of senior secondary school, I learnt how to become a mechanic.

“Along the line, I met bad friends who initiated me into the deadly cult group known as Debam fraternity. Most of them were into one bad thing or the other, so it was easy for me to join a gang of kidnappers who are also members of the cult.

“We derive pleasure in kidnapping elderly women and while their family members will be running around for ransom, we will take turns to r*pe the women.

“Our hideout is at Egbema local government. We prefer elderly women because it is easier to control them and their family members are always in a hurry to pay for their release,” he said.

Ogidi begged all the elderly women that they had kidnapped to forgive him. “I know that we have made a lot of money from kidnapping but because of the trauma that those women who are old enough to be my mother went through, I am sincerely sorry.

"I still hope that the police will arrest the others because I cannot face the consequence of our action alone.”

Woman In Tears After Marrying Okada Rider Who Posed As Military Officer In Lagos

A motorcycle rider popularly known as Okada rider, Mr. Uche Godwin, has been arrested for impersonation in Lagos after he posed as a military officer, fooled a young lady, Amaka, impregnated and married her.

Amaka was said to have moved into his house as wife but all the while did not know that he was a motorcycle rider as he had lied to her that he was an army officer. But the scam was exposed after Godwin was arrested along Ajao Estate wearing military uniform.

He was accosted by police officers on surveillance who asked for proper identification as he had claimed that he was an army officer. He was unable to provide a means of identification and was taken to the Ajao Police Division. The police then asked him to contact the military authorities to confirm his claims.

At that point, he then confessed that he was not an army officer. He pleaded with them not to tell his wife that he was a fake army officer.

It was gathered that Amaka was invited to the police station and asked what her husband’s job was. She said that he was an army officer and informed the police that he had military uniforms and went to work every morning with his motorcycle.

According to PM Express, the following was the conversation between Amaka and Godwin at the police station:

Amaka: Darling! What happened?

Godwin: The police arrested me in the morning when I was going to work.

Amaka: What was the offence they said you committed?

Godwin: They said I was wearing a military uniform and claimed to be one.

Amaka: Yes, what was wrong with that? Did you not introduce yourself and show them your ID card as an officer?

Godwin: I did, but they took me to the station for investigation and asked me to contact my Commander.

Amaka: Yes, call your commander and inform him so that they will release you to go to work.

Godwin: I have no Commander that I will call.

Amaka: what! Are you not an army officer?

Godwin: Yes, I ride Okada, please forgive me. I will explain everything to you later. Find a way to get me released and if I come out we will sort out the whole thing...

At that point Amaka who was heavily pregnant broke down in tears and told the police that Godwin had lied to her that he was an army officer. She got married to him on that premise only to discover at the police station that he was an Okada rider. Amaka left the police station in anger and frustration.

Godwin was charged before Isolo Magistrates court for impersonation and using army uniform to deceive members of the public.

He pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Mr. Oje Uagbale did not oppose the bail condition. Thus the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Teluwo granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.

He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition. The matter was adjourned till 18th July, 2018.

Fresh Anxiety In Plateau As Gunmen Kill Vigilante

There is no let up in the killings in Plateau State as gunmen suspected to be herdsmen struck again yesterday, killing a vigilante and stealing nine cows belonging to the Anglican Archbishop of Jos, the Right Reverend Benjamin Kwashe.

The State Police Command spokesman, Terna Tyopev, said the incident occurred at Kangan community of Jos South Local Government Area.

Also yesterday in Jos, the Plateau State capital, the Berom demanded the return of their 52 villages allegedly seized by suspected herdsmen.


The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) quoted Tyopev as saying: “Today, at about 7a.m, we received information that nine cattle, belonging to the Anglican Archbishop of Jos were rustled by men suspected to be herdsmen”.

“In the process, one Adamu Dung, 46, vigilante in the area was shot and killed by the rustlers,” Tyopev said.

The body has been deposited at the Bingham University Hospital, Jos.

The police, he said, had begun investigation into the matter.

Last Sunday, suspected herdsmen attacked Barkin-Ladi, Riyom, in Jos South Local Government Areas of the state, killing no fewer than 86 people.

Founder of Latter Rain Assembly Lagos, Pastor Tunde Bakare, yesterday bid his mother, Abigail Eebudola Bakare, final good bye declaring, “I will definitely miss her greatly.”

Madam Eebudola Bakare died in her son’s Lagos residence on May 5.

She was interred at the family house in Sodeke area of Abeokuta around noon aged 108.

Bakare, who likened his mother’s exit to a bodily part of him separating, said until her death, “she carried a heavy load of intercession,” for him, adding that she was also a great “cook.”


He spoke at the funeral service for the centenarian at the Victory Life Bible Church, Ajebo road, Abeokuta where she worshipped regularly during her lifetime.

Joining Bakare at the funeral service were eminent Nigerians including national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun; Osun State governor Rauf Aregbesola; Chairman Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote; former Ogun State Governors Aremo Segun Osoba and Otunba Gbenga Daniel including business tycoon Femi Otedola.

Finance Minister, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, represented President Muhammadu Buhari with Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, among others, also at attendance.

The Convener of Save Nigeria recalled his mum had predicted people from all walks of life would converge to bury her, expressing joy it came to pass.

“She predicted that people from every corner of the world would come to bury her.

“I’m so grateful because we  gave her a befitting burial. She is irreplaceable forever. I will continue to cherish her memory for ever. My mother’s exit was glorious,” Bakare said.

To keep the memory of his mum alive, the popular cleric said he had written a book in her honour titled:”The woman who saw the valuable future,” which would be launched on October 28, 2018 and given out to people free.

According to him, the book contains valuable lessons his mother taught him, which made him the person he is today.

Background

I am an only child and I wanted to be a beautiful queen, like in fairytales. I grew up in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, and that is also where I hail from. I had a regular childhood like everybody else. I attended several schools because my mum was a police officer; she was often transferred to different cities.

For my post-elementary education, I attended Police Secondary School, Minna, Niger State, and Sador Airport Authority Staff School, Calabar. Then, I studied Travel and Tourism Hospitality Management at the Graduate School of Management Studies, Ghana. I lived in Ghana for a while before returning to Nigeria but I plan to go back.


Acting

I have always wanted to act; I was very expressive and artistic as a kid. My mum also encouraged me to read by buying me a lot of books. The first movie I acted in was titled Crossroads. It was produced by Emeka Ossai and he starred in it as well. It was also on the set that I met Kate Henshaw for the first time. However, while in Ghana, I featured in some movies but they never saw the light of day.

Initially, I didn’t enjoy the support of my parents because they are religious people and they believed that the industry was corrupt and immoral. They felt it was not a place for a Christian lady to be in. I understood their point of view but I had to do what I had always wanted to do. I respect and love my parents but I also have to take charge of my life. Eventually, they came to see that and they have been very supportive of my career.

I became well-known after I featured in the movie, Two Brides and a Baby, but I have done a few films that have gone straight to online television. Other movies I have starred in include In the Name of Trust, Murder at Prime Suites, Dinner, Lekki Housewives and Fifty, among others.

Music

I am actually a musician but I don’t really do music mainstream. I have been trying in the last decade to make a name for myself as an actor but I have not gotten to where I want to be yet. Music is a whole career on its own which cannot be juggled (with another) if you have not mastered one completely. I will still do music but not just at the moment.

I used to get insulted for looking like Mercy Johnson. The last time I got insulted was when I starred in the movie, Two Brides and a Baby. Since that time, I have not experienced such. Back then, it made me sad because I was being insulted based on something I did not understand. No Regret Posting My Semi-N*de Photo- Omobutty

Biodun Okeowo, aka Omobutty has said she has no regret posting her semi-n*de photo online. The actress had posted a scene from a movie on her Instagram page where a male actor placed one of his hands on her chest.Many of her followers berated her for the picture, saying it was indecent.

However, the actress told Sunday Scoop that she didn’t have any regret for posting the picture. She said, “The picture was taken on the set of a movie, Blackmail. I didn’t see the comments claiming that the picture was immoral because once there are over 50 comments on my post, I don’t read them anymore. Nine Burnt, 31 Injured In Kaduna Road Crash

No fewer than 10 people have died in an accident on the Kaduna-Kano Expressway on Saturday.

The accident occurred near the Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria, Kaduna State, around 5.30am.

The state Head of Public Enlightenment, Federal Road Safety Commission, Mr. Idris Yahaya, confirmed the incident in a statement saying;

“The accident involved three vehicles: a luxury bus, marked GDD361YE, a car, marked SGR57XA, and an articulated vehicle, marked LND246XE.


“There were 48 persons in the three vehicles. Nine people were burnt to death and one woman died in the hospital, while 31 persons were injured.

“The driver of the luxury bus is receiving treatment at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Shika, Zaria.”

The FRSC commander said the injured persons were also receiving treatment at ABUTH, while the bodies of the dead had been deposited at the same hospital.

Oyo State Governor Ajimobi Orders The Re-Opening Of Bodija Market 48-Hours After Butchers And Police Clash

Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi has yesterday reportedly ordered the re-opening of Bodija market in Ibadan, the state capital with immediate effect following the butchers clash with the police.

This is coming after the popular market in the state was closed last Thursday afternoon because of the clash between butchers and men of the Oyo State Police command that reportedly claimed about six lives.

According to the Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Toye Arulogun who announced the reopening of the market, the decision was taken after due consultation with security agencies and all the stakeholders of the market.

While assuring that that adequate security measures have been put in place by the government to forestall any crisis and ensure that people go about their normal businesses in his statement, he noted that the government will not hesitate to close the market for unhygienic and unsanitary conditions as well as violent and chaotic conducts including such acts that may threaten the security of not just the market but the entire state.

Arologun who further urged the people to go about their normal businesses, prayed that God will comfort the families of the victims of Thursday’s mayhem and grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.

A Nigerian police Inspector narrowly escaped a mob action after he accidentally shot dead his complainant during a search for money in a truck in Anambra State.

"A police inspector narrowly escaped being lynched after he shot and killed a woman who went to the station to report that her driver stole and hid her money in Anambra State.

The deceased, Mrs. Ebelechukwu Emeka (38), of Igbuala Ifite Dunu in Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State, suspecting that the driver of her lorry was not making complete delivery, reported the matter to the police.

The policeman, who went with her to effect arrest of the driver, was said to have been searching the lorry with Ebelechukwu, when his rifle, which was corked, exploded and a bullet hit the complainant.

The woman died on the spot. Immediately the policeman realised that he had killed his complainant, he ran into the nearest bush. When youths in the community found him hiding him in the bush, they stripped and almost lynched him.

It was learnt that Ebelechukwu, along with her husband, went to meet their driver, who allegedly refused to make full delivery of money he worked for on that day.

The Chairman of Aborji Youth, Oba Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Chief Uche Ezeani, where the incident occurred, described the matter as an accident.

Ezeani explained that the policeman came with the woman and her husband to collect delivery money from their truck driver, when the incident occurred.

He said: “I heard that the conductor, who works with the driver of the truck Mercedes Benz M119 reported to the couple that the driver used to hide money in the vehicle. When the husband and wife got to where the vehicle was parked, they entered into the lorry to search it.

The inspector, who was armed, also joined them in searching the vehicle for any hidden money. In the process, the gun trigger was touched and a bullet was released. The bullet hit the woman. She was rushed to the hospital but was confirmed dead.

“I was walking pass when I saw a crowd. As a community leader, it was my duty to find out what was happening. I saw a woman lying on the ground. When I approached them, they told me that a policeman shot the woman. After shooting her, the policeman ran into the nearby bush.

The youth went into the bush and after a while, found and dragged the policeman out. After I heard what really happened, I prevented the youth from touching him. I instructed them to take him to the police station.”

The Chairman, Human Rights Defenders (HRDN), Mr. Dede Uzor Uzor, commended the Oba Aborji executive members led by Nze Dozie Nweke, the youth leader, Mazi Tony Ezeani and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Ojoto Police Station for the roles they played after the incident and in calming the restive youth.

He said: “It was a case of a recalcitrant police officer’s inability to properly place his gun in its protective chamber, leading to reckless shooting. If not that the policeman was quickly rescued and given protection, the youth would have lynched him.”

Uzor appealed to the state Commissioner of Police, for discreet investigation over the matter with the hope of bringing the killer to justice.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Haruna Mohammed, said the police inspector was attached to Operation Nkpochapu patrol team and was on duty on Owerri-Oba Road, when he accidentally pulled the trigger of his rifle, without applying safety catch."

Obasanjo, Other Ex-Generals Begin Moves To Sack Buhari In 2019

Some retired generals may have formed a strong coalition to defeat President Muhammadu Buhari in the highly anticipated 2019 Presidential election. 

Why are those who helped Buhari become president, after he tried on his own three times and failed, now turning against him?

The Nation's Sunday Oguntola reports on the inside details of the plot.

Investination has shown that some ex-generals, led by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, are perfecting plans to stop the reelection bid of President Buhari.

It was learnt that because of their disagreements with some key policies (and obvious failures) of Buhari administration, the ex-generals have formed what a source called “a strong coalition against Buhari’s second term ambition in 2019.”

The army of opposition 
Some of the prominent ex-generals presently associated to the coalition, according to our findings, include Lt. General Theophilus Danjuma, former Military President Ibrahim Babangida, former Head of State Abdulsalam Abubakar, General Zamani Lekwot and General Joshua Dongoyaro, among others.

It was learnt that though the ex-generals also have personal issues among themselves leading to mutual suspicion, they may have decided to jettison them for the purpose of fighting a cause they consider fundamental to the survival of Nigeria and Nigerians.

All the prominent ex-generals so far linked to the coalition reportedly have personal axes to grind with the current administration over several issues; it was learnt, leaving them no option than to unite against Buhari, who they see as (incompetent).

The plot, according to sources, is spearheaded by Obasanjo, who on January 23 wrote Buhari to put his reelection bid on hold, accusing him of non-performance.

The letter, sources confided, was carefully scripted and timed to rally other ex-generals who were skeptical over the workability of the plans.

Once the letter became public knowledge, many of them reportedly became more relaxed and comfortable with the group, pledging to work with other good Nigerians to ensure the defeat of Buhari at the 2019 poll.

It was gathered that the ex-generals, some of whom served under Obasanjo in the military, have been holding meetings for over a year on how to stop Buhari.

Investigations revealed several of the meetings held in Abuja while a few elements in the coalition have also met overseas to perfect strategies.

Aiming for the spine 
Obasanjo, who has accepted the daunting task of being the brain-box and face of the coalition, has been harping on the economic performances of the current administration, declaring them as appalling.

In his January 23 letter, the former President had stated: “I knew President Buhari before he became President and said that he is weak in the knowledge and understanding of the economy but I thought that he could make use of good Nigerians in that area that could help.

“Although, I know that you cannot give what you don’t have and that economy does not obey military order. You have to give it what it takes in the short-, medium- and long-term. Then, it would move.

“I know his weakness in understanding and playing in the foreign affairs sector and again, there are many Nigerians that could be used in that area as well. They have knowledge and experience that could be deployed for the good of Nigeria.”

The insecurity challenge, especially the herdsmen attacks, also offers the coalition a massive outlet to bark at the administration. Again, Obasanjo touched on this in his letter.

He had stated: “The herdsmen/crop farmers issue is being wittingly or unwittingly allowed to turn sour and messy. It is no credit to the Federal Government that the herdsmen rampage continues with careless abandon and without finding an effective solution to it.

“And it is a sad symptom of insensitivity and callousness that some governors, a day after 73 victims were being buried in a mass grave in Benue State without condolence, were jubilantly endorsing President Buhari for a second term! The timing was most unfortunate.

“The issue of herdsmen/crop farmers’ dichotomy should not be left on the political platform of blame game; the Federal Government must take the lead in bringing about solution that protects life and properties of herdsmen and crop farmers alike and for them to live amicably in the same community.”

The allegation of collusion by the military in the recent killings across the nation by Danjuma last March also exposed the current administration to public outcry.

Danjuma’s outburst on alleged ethnic cleansing sat well with many in the northcentral who respects his position on political and security affairs.

It was gathered that the coalition has compiled a list of weaknesses or drawbacks of the current administration, which would be highlighted at different fora from time to time.

A source said they will also work with pressure groups, civil society organisations and human rights bodies, whose primary role would be to organise protests and demonstrations across the nation.

Battle for global acceptance 
There are indications that the civil society organisations are currently being mobilised by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) with a history of good working relationship and vast networks with the bodies.

It was gathered during the week that very soon, the civil society groups will start unleashing statements and position papers, which would be followed up with peaceful protests across the nation to expose the needs for Nigerians to reject Buhari at the poll.

Another plank of the well-articulated ploy is to mount a campaign against the administration at the international scene to sell to world powers the idea of defeating Buhari.

This strategy is allegedly directly coordinated by Obasanjo using his vast network and connections in the international scene.

Politics of ex-generals 
Also coordinated directly by Obasanjo, the political strategy has taken off with the adoption of African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the platform for the former President’s Coalition for Nigerian Movement (CNM).

ADC, which is working towards the fusion of other parties like the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Peoples Democratic Movement, as well as 23 smaller ones, has reportedly started building consensus on a northern presidential candidate to stop Buhari.

The ex-generals are reportedly working on the theory that a strong northern candidate will share votes from the region with Buhari while getting support from the northcentral, south-south and southeast. This permutation, it was learnt, is why they are considering a vice presidential candidate from the southeast or southwest.

Some of the ex-generals are said to be toying with the idea of backing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) should it present an “acceptable” presidential candidate they could work with in 2019.

But it was learnt many have serious misgivings about supporting PDP because of its perception challenges, making the ADC option a more reasonable path for the ex-generals.

The Nation gathered last week that Buhari is however not unawares of the plot against him by some members of his former constituency.

A presidential aide, who spoke under strict conditions of anonymity, told our correspondent: “These things are there to see. We know what they are up to..."

More Killings: Security Agencies Not Doing Enough - Saraki

Considering the high number of mindless killings in Benue, Taraba and Zamfara states, it's shocking that Nigeria's security agencies were still caught unawares as rampaging killers killed over 100 innocent souls last week in Plateau.

Many Nigerians are asking; what is really going on?

Senate President Bukola Saraki has disclosed that the National Assembly foresaw the current spate of killings in parts of the country, hence its recent invitation of security chiefs with a view to nipping the problem in the bud.

He said some of the killings could have been prevented had the necessary action been taken by the appropriate agencies.

He regretted that some of the security chiefs misconstrued the intention of the federal lawmakers and chose to ignore the invitation.

“We are beginning to see the wisdom in some of the things we were saying. We have always stood for what we believe is good for this country. We always politicise everything in this country,” Saraki told reporters in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

But he vowed that the National Assembly under his leadership would not shirk its responsibility.

His words: “The National Assembly under my leadership, many months ago, had seen the danger. We had called for security summit to address the issue of security architecture.

“We had seen the need for us to review the security structure. We had invited service chiefs on the matter. You are all very aware that some service chiefs decided in their own wisdom that there is no need for them to work with the NASS to address these issues.”

Saraki said the security challenge requires a drastic action immediately.

“There is no society experiencing incessant killings as it is and then we think it is business as usual,” he said.

“It requires drastic action. It requires collective collaboration of all agencies and all arms of government for us to be serious. We on our part at the NASS, we will not get frustrated but we have been sounding this alarm.

“A society where gunmen could go in, shoot for seven hours and nobody is caught, that is not a normal society.”

He said that the National Assembly will, on resumption from recess, continue to “ensure that those who have the responsibility of protecting lives and property are accountable to the people.”

“It cannot continue. It is not something to be politicized. If somebody is not capable he should give way for others that are competent. We have heard that security personnel are working at cross purposes. A is not talking to B and B is not talking to C. They don’t attend meetings jointly. Things need to be done.

“Let us forget about party, these are people’s lives. It is not about the Speaker of House of Representatives or the Senate President, it is about Nigeria.

“The sooner we see that and address this, the better. Some of these could have been prevented since we have been shouting about this.

“Until we sit down – the presidency and legislature – to thrash out the issues…We must discuss the issues. Something needs to be done. Something is wrong. This cannot continue.”

4. Leave Your Car There
Just like the above, leave your car, especially when there is traffic congestion. Leave it!, don’t try to lock it. Just run, stand at an extremely safe distance and watch your car from there. Once the road has been declared safe by the authorities, you can go back and pick your car. If it gets burnt, hustle and buy another car. Your life is worth more than all the Toyota cars ever built put together.

If you are in a public bus, do the same thing. Exit the bus and run with the instructions given above.

"Why Recovered Abacha Loot Should Not Be Shared To Nigerians" – Shehu Sani

More reactions have continued to trail the plan by the federal government to disburse the over $300 million fund repatriated from the accounts of former Head of State, late General Sani Abacha in Switzerland to poor Nigerians.

The National Coordinator of the Open Government Partnership (OGP), Nigeria and Special Assistant to the President on Justice Reforms, Juliet Ibekaku-Nwagwu on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 disclosed the government’s plan to share the funds to poor Nigerians.

Mrs Nwagwu said under the MoU with Switzerland, the money would be paid directly into the accounts of the poorest Nigerians through their various accounts for two years.

The aide stated that this would be done through identification numbers to be made available on the website being developed by the National Social Investment office and the World Bank.

She explained that the agencies working on the modalities would brief the public on June 28, adding that the process for the payment will be transparent for civil society and the media to monitor.

“The poorest members of the community will be registered online, and before you make any payment, they must have an ID number so that every payment would be tracked.

“No amount will be paid out without a joint signature between Nigeria and the World Bank and without identification of individuals.

“If there is anything we have achieved, it’s about getting Nigerian citizens to become conscious about what is happening with their money," she said.

This move has not gone down well with some Nigerians who protested against the plan.

Some on social media have questioned how the government will identify poor Nigerians accusing the government of using this as a way to re-loot the funds.

They instead urged the government to divert the funds to develop power sector, fuel and solve other challenges in the country.

Among them is Senator Shehu Sani who represents Kaduna Central at the Senate. For him the disbursement will be impossible as it won’t get to the poorest Nigerians.

Sani who made his opinion known in a tweet on Saturday, suggested that the money should be used to finance a project Nigerians will see with their physical eyes.

“Sharing $350 million recovered loot to 180 million Nigerians is impossible,” Sani said.

“It will end up with beneficiaries whose names will be given by Governors, Ministers, Lawmakers and the President’s men.

“Let it be tied to a project Nigerians can see with their ‘Korokoro eyes’,” Sani opined.
