Graphic Photos: Chaos In Ondo State After NSCDC Officers Kills Man And His Sister
There was pandemonium in an area in Akure, the Ondo State capital after Civil Defence officers killed a man and his younger sister.
According to report, a motorcyclist, whose name is still unknown, was said to have been knocked down by an official of the corps on Tuesday, along Ondo road in the state capital. This resulted in the death of the commercial motorcyclist and his two passengers.
It was gathered that after the Civil Defence official, who was driving an official vehicle, knocked down the motorcyclist and the two passengers, the passengers were immediately rushed to the State Specialist Hospital, Akure, where they were said to be in critical conditions. However, on Wednesday, fellow commercial motorcyclists in the state who decided to protest the killing of their colleague took the body of the deceased to the office of the NSCDC adjacent the Government House, Alagbaka, Akure.
It was learnt that after the protest later turned awry, a trigger-happy officer of the corps shot into the protesters thereby killing the deceased's sister who was also part of the protest.
While confirming that indeed one of their men on his way to write his promotional exam accidentally knocked down a motorcyclist and the protesters had come to attack them, a source with the corps said;

“One of our men was on his way to write his promotion examination when the Okara rider dangerously overtook the officer’s vehicle and in the process knocked him down which resulted in his death before he was rushed to the hospital.
“I understand that the other two passengers are still in the hospital.
“This morning, they came to our office with the corpse of the Okada rider to attack us. Immediately they got to the junction of our office, they started hauling stones at us, but we had to shoot in the air to keep them from advancing in our office.”
