The Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, has suspended the Village Head of Goma in Gimi District of Danga Local Government Area, Alhaji Danladi Ibrahim, over illegal possession of marijuana.

A former romantic partner might be reappearing on the scene soon, and the feelings they stir up won't be the ones you were expecting to feel. They've taken the initiative to get back into your life, and there could be a very significant reason for it. Aren't you curious to know what that is? Give them some of your time, but not all of your time. Make it clear that you have boundaries that you have no intention of changing for them -- at least not yet.

NOLLYWOOD ACTOR HANKS ANUKU DENIES HAVING HIV

NOLLYWOOD ACTOR HANKS ANUKU DENIES HAVING HIV

Hanks-Anuku-news
Hanks Anuku

I can authoritatively confirm that the actor is in fine health, and there is “no iota of truth” in the story which was reported on various media sites across Nigeria last weekend.
In a phone chat with the celebrity, the actor expressed his displeasure over the bad light in which the news has cast him and his immediate family members, most especially his wife and children.
Bearing his mind, the actor said:
“There is no iota of truth in that story! This is me, I am fine and healthy.”
The obviously sad actor is really devastated about the story that he slept with over 80 women in 2011 and later deliberately passed the deadly disease HIV to his beloved wife.
He also wondered why anyone would sit down to cook up such a terrible story when he has not offended anyone.
A close friend of the actor, who spoke with Naij.com, said that the purported news that circulated about his actor friend is in such a bad taste!
Recall that the Nollywood actor, who is now a born again Christian, was said to have  revealed how he enjoyed life back in Zambia. He was supposedly quoted to have said:

FG ACTS TO CURTAIL RAMPANT INCIDENTS OF SNAKEBITES IN PLATEAU STATE

In an act to curtail the rampant incidents of snakebites in Kanke, Panshin and Shendam communities of Plateau State, the Federal Ministry of Health has donated large quantities (Vail) of Anti-Snake Venom to the Plateau State Government.

Presenting the drugs at the Jos University Teaching Hospital, the Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, stated that the donation was in response to the outcry from the people in the affected communities and as part of the Federal Government’s intervention effort in stemming the scourge, which had been ravaging the areas since August 2015.
The Minister, represented by an Assistant Director, Fatai Oyediran, who led a team of medical experts and environmental scientists from Federal Ministry of Health to Plateau State, informed that his team was in the state to confirm the complaint, assess the current status of the snakebite and carry out a sensitization and awareness campaign aimed at raising the bar in terms of prevention and control of the scourge.

PRESIDENCY SAYS HE WONT INTERFERE IN JAFARU'S $2.1BILLION ARMS PROBE

PRESIDENCY SAYS HE WONT INTERFERE IN JAFARU'S $2.1BILLION ARMS PROBE

The Presidency said, last night, that it would not interfere in the arrest and probe of a close associate of President Muhammadu Buhari, Jafaru Isah, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over alleged involvement in the Dasukigate scandal.

Mr. Isa, Military Administrator of Kaduna State from December 1993 to August 1996, during the military regime of General Sani Abacha and one-time governorship candidate of the defunct CPC in Kano State, is the first chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to be arrested by the EFCC since the beginning of a sweeping probe into the alleged diversion of $2.1 billion meant for arms purchase by officials of the immediate-past administration.
An aide of the President told Vanguard in confidence that although Jafaru Isah was a close political ally to President Buhari, the first citizen would nonetheless remain neutral in the matter, in line with his avowed position to deal decisively with corruption.
Jafaru Isa

While describing Isah as a political ally, who had been with Buhari from the days of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP, to the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, the aide made it clear that the long relationship did not in any way suggest that Buhari was associated with the alleged collection of N100 million from the Office of the National Adviser, ONSA, by the embattled politician.
The aid said: “It is true that Isah has been with Buhari from the days of the ANPP and CPC and was equally a member of the Transition Committee and actually headed the Defence Committee.
That does not mean that Buhari knows anything about the N100 million said to have been collected by the man from the ONSA.”
Jafaru is also described as a close friend of the embattled ex-NSA, Dasuki, who is facing multiple charges over alleged money laundering and breach of public trust in three courts.
It could not be established last night whether Jafaru was given the N100m by Dasuki for some contracts or because of his closeness to the former NSA or both.
Jafaru was arrested at his Abuja residence located on Ajayi Crowther Street, Asokoro by operatives of the anti-graft commission around 9pm on Wednesday when he failed to honour an invitation to clear the air on some payments traced to him from the ONSA.
Jafaru is said to have resorted to writing a letter to the commission asking for more time to attend to a family burial instead of reporting to the EFCC.
Rather than honouring the invitation, sources said he wrote a letter to the EFCC through his lawyer, seeking a postponement of his appearance date on the grounds of death of a relative.
Metuh spends 3rd night in EFCC cell
Meanwhile, there was no word on how soon the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh, would be released.
Checks by Vanguard, last night, revealed that the EFCC, which arrested Metuh on Tuesday, was not in a hurry to free him. A source in the commission confirmed that Metuh was still being questioned by its operatives.
Release or charge our son to court, Metuh’s family tells FG
Four days after the arrest of Chief Olisa Metuh by officials of the EFCC, his family has cried out that he should be released or charged to court.
In a statement signed, yesterday, by Chief Gilbert Metuh for the Obi-Ezeani-Nnewi, the family said that the charges for which the PDP spokesman was arrested have not been made known to him, the family and the public. The family also raised alarm that it was worried about the health and safety of Metuh.
The family’s statement read in part: “Metuh family – the Obi-Ezeani-Nnewi- has noted with grave concern the continued incarceration of their Diokpa and spokesperson of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olisa Metuh (Ugochidebelu Nnewi) since his arrest Tuesday by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
“Whereas the charges for which Chief Metuh is being detained for over 48 hours now have not been formally made known to the family and the general public; we have noted some sensational publications in a section of the media claiming that our son collected the sum of N1.4 billion from the arms deal cash and has been collecting N4 million monthly from the Office of the former National Security Adviser.
“We have confronted our son with this allegation and he assured us that they are completely false.
“However, he acknowledged that in the course of his duties as the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, the then leader of the party and President of the country directed him to carry out some urgent national assignment relating to his office, which the former President duly funded and which he duly carried out to the satisfaction of the former President.
“The family, therefore, views the publications bandying the figure of N1.4 billion and alleged collection of N4 million stipend from the Office of the NSA as deliberate blackmail aimed at inflaming public sentiments against our son.
“Our biggest concern for now is the health and safety of our son, who even before his arrest has alerted the nation about various threats to his life, a stance that is not unconnected to his position as the spokesperson of the opposition. Our position is more so as he has refused to eat following fears of intentions to poison him in detention.
“In view of the above therefore, we DEMAND that the EFCC immediately release our son, Chief Metuh (Ugochidebelu Nnewi) from detention or charge him to court.”
Also on Tuesday, the National leadership of PDP had warned that Metuh must not be killed by the government, using the arrest by EFCC as a vehicle, just as the party has demanded for an immediate release of Metuh.
In a statement by PDP National Secretary, Prof. Adewale Oladipo, the party noted that the arrest of Metuh by officials of the EFCC did not come as a surprise, just as it warned that his arrest would be the last straw that may break Nigeria’s democracy.
Oladipo’s statement read: “This development, which did not come to us as a surprise given series of threats to our party’s spokesman by the APC and the Federal Government, who are obviously not comfortable with our stance on the confused state of the nation under their watch, is a continuation of APC’s grand design to silence and decimate the PDP.
“The arrest of Chief Metuh today underscores the growing political intolerance in our country and the foisting of a police state which was last Wednesday underscored by the President and Commander-in-Chief himself, who defended why a government in a democracy should flout constitutional provision and brazenly disobey court orders.
“This onslaught against our spokesman, according to intelligence report available to us is part of a larger script by the government to ensure that PDP’s wings are finally clipped in their mission to install a dictatorial one-party state in the country.
“The excesses of security agencies under this government, especially the Department of State Services (DSS) and the EFCC, in abridging the human rights of PDP members have become worrisome and a threat to our democratic evolution.
“Nigerians and the international community will recall that on a number of occasions, the PDP, through its spokesman has been outspoken on some undemocratic proclivities being exhibited by the APC-led Federal Government in the last seven months.
“The PDP insists that for whatever reason Chief Metuh was arrested, his rights as a citizen under the law must not be trampled upon. We therefore demand his immediate release and that due process of investigation and prosecution concerning him should be strictly adhered to.”
“We state this because we have been made aware of top directives to break Chief Metuh and if possible poison him during his detention by the EFCC. Chief Metuh, has since his arrest at about 10 am, has been kept incommunicado, with his lawyers denied access to him.
“The PDP declares the arrest of our spokesman as the last straw that may break our democracy. We therefore forewarn the Federal Government and its agencies to save our democracy and forthwith release our National Publicity Secretary.
“We are also calling on the international community and well-meaning Nigerians to stand up for this democracy, which our party nurtured for 16 years and deepened to a level where the opposition, for the first time in our political history, had the opportunity to win in a general election.”

EL CHAPO GUZMAN FINALLY RECAPTURED

       EL CHAPO GUZMAN FINALLY RECAPTURED

Notorious Mexican drug kingpin Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, who broke out of a maximum security prison through an elaborate tunnel six months ago, was recaptured Friday.
"Mission accomplished — we have him," Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto announced on Twitter.
Guzman's daring escape in July — his second in 14 years — was an embarrassment for Peña Nieto, who had previously said an escape would be “unforgivable.”
U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch called Friday's capture "a blow to the international drug-trafficking syndicate he is alleged to have led, a victory for the citizens of both Mexico and the United States, and a vindication of the rule of law in our countries."
Guzman’s escape last year was a point of friction between the two nations. The U.S. had desired his extradition and his recapture is likely to reopen the issue. The Justice Department had no immediate comment on whether it will push to extradite Guzman to the U.S., where he faces charges in multiple jurisdictions across the country.
Mexican Marines said in a statement that marines, acting on a tip, raided a home before dawn Friday in the city of Los Mochis, in Guzman’s home state of Sinaloa. The assault team was fired upon from inside the structure. Five suspects were killed and six others arrested. One marine was wounded, but did not sustain life-threatening injuries.
Marines seized two armored vehicles, eight long guns, one handgun and a rocket-propelled grenade launcher, the marines said in a statement.
The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration said it was "extremely pleased" with the successful operation, calling it "a victory for the rule of law and the Mexican people and government."
The statement by the Mexican Marines did not mention Guzman by name, only referring to "alleged members of organized crime." The assault team also found Orso Ivan Gastelum Cruz, the presumed boss of the north zone of Sinaloa for the Sinaloa drug Cartel, but said he escaped during the operation, according to the statement.
In televised remarks Friday afternoon, Peña Nieto praised the security, intelligence, police and justice services for their operation.
"We are proud of them, they are the pride of our nation," he said.
He said Guzman's capture was the result of "months of very careful and determined intelligence work and criminal investigation."
The diminutive Guzman, whose nickname means "Shorty," wielded so much power as head of the Sinaloa drug cartel that the Chicago Crime Commission called him Public Enemy No. 1, a label applied to gangster Al Capone in 1930.
After breaking out of Puente Grande prison in 2001, he spent more than a decade on the run, rising to lead the Sinaloa cartel, which smuggles large quantities of drugs into the United States. The cartel is a key player in a drug war that has ravaged parts of Mexico for years and cost thousands of lives.
Guzman escaped that time with the help of prison guards, who possibly hid him in a laundry cart. He was recaptured in February 2014 and held at Altiplano before his escape in July. The governor of the prison and several guards were arrested after his most recent escape, which took place through a tunnel carved beneath the shower stall in his cell.
Peña Nieto and federal officials have been criticized for not extraditing Guzmán to the U.S., in spite of the shortcomings in the Mexican prison system.
Following his arrest in Mexico Friday, the world's most-wanted drug lord was escorted onto a plane. Joaquin 'El Chapo' Guzman was caught six months after tunneling out of a maximum security prison.
Peña Nieto's credibility has plunged in the past 18 months, with corruption scandals and perceived incompetence on security matters pulling down his approval rating to levels not seen in 20 years. Proponents were quick to pounce on Guzman's recapture as proof the president is serious about security.
"The whole world and all Mexicans realize that we will get to the bottom in this war against organized crime. Don't have even the slightest doubt," said Emilio Gamboa, leader of the governing Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) in the Senate.
Analysts say the capture gives the president a chance to regain some credibility after taking a political hit.
“In spite of concerns that Peña Nieto's government would go easy on kingpins and organized crime, it hasn't,” said Malcolm Beith, a journalist who wrote a book on Guzmán. “Catching Chapo again now gives Mexico a great opportunity to either try him quickly and fairly and make sure that if found guilty he remains behind bars or extradite him and prove that U.S.-Mexican relations are just as strong as ever.”
That Guzmán was captured by marines failed to surprise Jorge Kawas, a Mexican security consultant, who also suggested U.S. intelligence may have been used in the operation.
The Mexican Navy "has been and continues to be the most trusted by its U.S. counterparts and Mexican federal authorities, the key reason it continues to lead these high-profile operations," he said.

FALAKE:- LATE AUDU'S SON ARRESTED BY DSS

FALAKE:- LATE AUDU'S SON ARRESTED BY DSS

The DSS has arrested embattled Deputy governorship flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress in the Nov. 21, 2015 Governorship election in Kogi State, James Faleke, and Mohammed, the eldest son of Abubakar Audu, the late APC governorship candidate, Abubakar Audu.At the moment, the reason for the arrest is unknown.

The Director, Media and Publicity of Audu/Faleke Campaign Organisation, Duro Meseko, said in a statement on Saturday...

I’m surprised my Principal and the eldest son of our political leader, Mohammed are still being kept as I speak with you which is 4pm. What could be responsible for this ill treatment by the SSS?“Or could they be acting the intimidation script? Trying to arms-twist them into abandoning the sacred mandate freely given to the Audu/Faleke team by the generality of Kogi people?
“Let me make it abundantly clear that our mandate is sacred and no amount of of technical detention, intimidation and harassment would shake our resolve to get justice through the judiciary.‎
“I refuse to believe that the presidency has hands in the arrest! But we may not rule out the fact that the power that be must have wielded their influence in the arrest, but we are not not pertubed over the development, because we believe that God ultimately vindicate us.” He stated

Falake is currently at loggerheads with APC after they refused to field him as their governorship candidate, following the death of the former governorship aspirant, Audu Abubakar. He has dragged the decision to the election petition tribunal, seeking to be declared the duly elected governor of the state instead of Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

REV CHRIS OKOTIE NOW TARGET FOR BOUNTY HUNTERS

REV CHRIS OKOTIE NOW TARGET FOR BOUNTY HUNTERS

Rev. Chris Okotie’s recent commentary on the ongoing war against corruption, and the role ‘statesmen’ should play in ensuring its success stirred the hornets’ nest: “It will be recalled that in his Independence Day speech, President Muhammadu Buhari came out clearly to reaffirm his honour and integrity in prosecuting the battle against Nigeria’s enemy No. 1, and his avowed commitment not to be selective or vindictive as being widely speculated.

“I bear no ill will against anyone on past events. Nobody should fear anything from me. We are not after anyone. People should only fear the consequences of their actions”. This reiterated the reverend’s position on the anti-corruption war on the necessity for an all-out battle against the endemic monster and Mr. President’s ability to follow it through dispassionately.
Buhari’s long awaited appointment of cabinet members heralds the beginning of the public’s scrutiny of his government and its financial dealings for any sign of corrupt or questionable practices, so, he must be aware that the very steps he takes in prosecuting his anti-corruption war will be scrutinized when his governments’ tenure is over. It is only appropriate to bring this to Mr. President’s notice.
Me-thinks that a submission to an all-encompassing probe of the immediate past administration  is the best option to set the records straight and put to rest the hydra-headed monster of allegations being rumoured about the regime  and indeed where possible, all past  administrations.
Recent events involving the high profile trial of top-guns of the ex-President’s party, the PDP – justifies  Okotie’s view that any plea for mercy by some influential Nigerians for persons under investigation is premature and uncalled for. There’s a red card for corruption worldwide.
Buhari cannot afford to allow these scandalous legacies to continue under his watch. Now that he has begun the anti-corruption war, the outcome must meet with the expectations of Nigerians. Following through with his manifesto is the second and logical step to take. Okotie  always says “people don’t do what you expect, they do what you inspect”.
He also wrote in an article titled, “In search of game changers”, in which he said: “Many of the familiar problems of our country like power outage, hunger, collapsed national infrastructure; conflicts in all facets of our national life, would remain as painful reminders that the gathering firestorm over the 2015 general elections could only be averted if the democratic process is able to produce game changers”.
Now, Buhari and his new aides are facing horrendous challenges to reconstruct our dilapidated nation, so, he must inspire both his team as well as the entire nation and turn it into a mass army of loyalists who will join him in this arduous task. His ability to rally the nation will prove if he is the game changer he is envisaged to be. He must also be able to take responsibility and act decisively, rather than wait to be blamed before defending himself if his ministers do wrong.
In the same vein, caution should be taken by the opposition in making utterances that could easily be misconstrued to be the constitution of a parallel government, which mimic’s a surreptitious continuance of Buhari’s predecessor tenure, and seeking to influence the incumbent when a path which is at odds with their own is being followed. This hint of blind-partiality is to pressurize the incumbent into mitigating the force of the corruption war and soft-pedal his resolve.
If the hands of any official being probed are clean and there are no skeletons in their cupboards, why then should they fear? The new ministers and appointees have a tall task of proving pessimists who believe it is impossible to live above the corruption board, wrong.

MEET DOG WITH A PENCHANT FOR VISITING ABANDONED BUILDINGS

MEET DOG WITH A PENCHANT FOR VISITING    ABANDONED BUILDINGS

Claire ironing in an abandoned farmhouse in Netherlands.

This adventurous pup is a world traveler with an impressive modeling portfolio - and isn't afraid of exploring parts unknown.
Claire is a three-year-old bulldog terrier with penchant for visiting abandoned buildings with her trusty owner and accomplice. A professional photographer got the idea to travel to deserted locations across Luxembourg, Belgium and the Netherlands a little over two years ago, and decided that Claire would be the perfect subject for her work.

"She’s very obedient," Van Klempen told Roosevelt Aneke's blog, "She loves it. You can see she thinks its fun and sometimes you can see almost a smile on her face."

Claire playing the piano in an abandoned Cafe in Luxembourg.
The urban exploring duo have visited countless decrepit hospitals, mansions, castles and homes that society has long forgotten. Many of these spaces have been abandoned for more than 40 years, with decaying furniture worn down by time and neglect.
Claire poses with found objects that have been left behind by previous owners and is a total pro when it comes to modeling.
"She's such a brilliant dog," Van Kempen says, "She has to sit absolutely still for a second which is very hard she can’t blink or move her eyes."

Claire relaxing in an abandoned house in Luxembourg.
Because many of the buildings they visit still technically belong to someone, they will only go inside if there's a window, door or hole in the wall to jump through.
"I want to make sure we don’t break in, so we don’t destroy anything," Van Kempen said.

Claire praying in an abandoned chapel in Belgium.
Van Kempen scours the depths of the internet looking for clues about little-known places that are begging to be explored. She uses Google Earth to see a street view of the building to make sure it's a good setting for her work.
"Finding the locations itself is a problem because they’re all kept a secret," she said, "so you have to be sort of like Sherlock Holmes to find out where they are."
Though many of the places they visit seem spooky or dangerous at first, Van Kempen is never scared as long as Claire is by her side. And for Claire, the thrill of exploration is as exciting as the chance to bask in the limelight.
"She loves the spotlight," Van Kempen said, "As long as she’s got attention, she’s prepared to do anything."

The Bayelsa deputy governor’s brother, Beinmopre Jonah, escaped death by the whiskers on Thursday, as thugs suspected to be working for the All Progressives Congress, (APC) invaded his residence in Ekeki, Yenagoa local government area of the state, leaving him unconscious.
The hoodlums suspected to be party thugs, stormed his residence brandishing dangerous weapons, including machetes and cudgels.
The entire area was thrown into pandemonium, as the suspected thugs threatened to shoot, maim and kill anybody that may put up resistance or call security operatives.
According to an eyewitness account, “The invaders overpowered his guard, broke the security lock of the gate and headed straight to the living room, where he was with members of his family and they attacked him.”

The victim overpowered him and the defenceless Jonah was inflicted machete cuts all over his body before they finally left.
The operation, which lasted for close to two hours left the entire neighbourhood in a state of fear, as they were made to stay indoors.
As at the time of filing this report, the victim whose head was heavily bandaged with machete cuts all over his body is receiving treatment at the Government House clinic, Yenagoa.
Also, efforts to get his comment on the incident proved abortive, as he was in a state of unconsciousness, with serious injuries to his head, neck and chest.

The attack is coming on the heels of Saturday’s supplementary polls in Southern Ijaw LGA and 101 units across 6 local governments in the state, which is expected to be a deciding factor.
Reacting to the incident, the Director of Publicity, Restoration Campaign Organisation, Hon. Jonathan Obuebite condemned the attack, describing it as a confirmation of the PDP’s earlier position that APC is not ready for election but for war.
Pastor Beinmo Jonah, injured brother of the the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State at the Bayelsa Government House Clinic
“The attack on the immediate younger brother of the Deputy Governor is a pointer to the terror that the APC is planning to unleash on the people of the state during Saturday’s re-run.”
The Director of Publicity, therefore, called for thorough investigation into the matter, adding that, this is the only way the people in the state will have confidence in the security personnel.
According to him, it is sad to note that, some top politicians and ex-militants alleged to be responsible for the botched December 2015 governorship election in Southern Ijaw local government area are still working freely, without being arrested by the security agencies.
