The organised Labour said it's either N30,000 or nothing.

On Wednesday, leaders of the Nigerian Labour Congress, Trader Union Congress and the United Labour Congress with their members marched from their NLC office at D-Line Port Harcourt to the Rivers State Government House to register their protest.

Speaking at the gate of the government house, National Vice President of the United Labour Congress, Igwe Achese said they were at the government House to pass their protest message to Governor Nyesom Wike.

He said: “The only thing that can abort this strike is if they agree to our terms. Until that is done, there is no going back.

“Our message is for Nigerians to begin to stockpile their homes with foodstuff because this strike, when it begins, it will not end until the Government meet our demands.”

Also speaking, the chairman of the River state council of the NLC, Beatrice Itubo reiterated that the economy of the country will be shut down on November 6 if their demands were not met.

Female Beggar Exposed As Wealthy Woman Who Has Houses

Some situations are not easy to understand, and this is sure one of such.

A woman who comes out openly to beg for money has been exposed as being wealthy, with a comfortable family. If that's the true situation, why does she want other people's money?

The 79-year-old Chinese woman, who begs at Hangzhou East Railway Station, has been exposed as a wealthy woman, who merely enjoys begging.

According to Global Times, the woman is well-off, has a family, who cares for her but prefers to beg. So, the railway resorted to broadcasting a message, telling passengers not to give her money.

An elderly woman in the station uses her age to win sympathy. Her family financial situation is quite good, so please don’t fall for it,” said the broadcast played on repeat.

The woman’s son, who was identified as Zhang Ming confirmed that she was a woman, who owns houses and has savings.

Zhang told a local paper Metropolitan Express that his family makes money from numerous rental properties and a factory, which he runs.

Her son said, “I serve her delicious meals every day. But she just insists on going out to beg. In terms of money, she is a lot richer than most of the people here. She has savings in a few banks around here.”

Railway staff have appealed to local police, who deferred taking action.

The 79-year-old woman reportedly started off by selling maps at the railway station, but the management there disapproved of her little side hustle, so she started begging instead.

She reportedly arrives at the station every morning at 10am and doesn’t leave until 8pm. According to some sources, she makes around 300 yuan per day.

Railway staff hope that the broadcast will ruin her panhandling prospects, force her to give up and go back home.

2019: Seventh Day Adventist Sues INEC, FG Over Saturday Voting

The applicants in the matter, Chief Emeka Anyabelem, Elder Asonye Onwudebe, Felix Minikwu and Chinedu Omesurum, said conducting elections on Saturday amounts to the violation of their rights to worship and disenfranchisement of other members of their church.

In the suit, PHC/2836/2018, the applicants prayed the court to declare that holding elections on Saturday, the worship day for the denomination, is a violation of the Seventh Day Adventist Church members rights.

The suit read in part: “A declaration that the applicants’ known day of worship being Saturday, they are entitled to their freedom of religion and worship on Saturdays unhindered or by any means, whatsoever, under the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended).

“A declaration that the fixing/scheduling of the 2019 presidential and National Assembly elections on Saturday, February 16, 2019, and the governorship and state Assembly elections/Federal Capital Territory (FCT) council elections on Saturday, March 2, by the first respondent, in concert with the second and third respondents, constitute a violation of the applicants’ fundamental rights to freedom of religion.”

The applicants said their rights being violated are guaranteed under Section 38 of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999, and Article 8 of the African Charter on Human and People’s (Enforcement and Ratification) Act, Cap A9.

The applicants further prayed the court to make an order of injunction restraining the third defendants, INEC, from conducting the 2019 election as scheduled or scheduling any other elections on Saturday.

Meanwhile, when the matter came up yesterday, in court, Ahamefule Owurre, counsel to the applicants, prayed for adjournment, to allow him to reply counter affidavit of the defence on point of law.

He said the desire of the applicants is that elections be fixed between Monday and Thursday to allow many people to participate in the electioneering process.

However, the trial judge, Justice M. Danagogo, adjourned the matter till December 18, for motions.

FIFA Bans Ex-Ghana FA President For Life

One of African football's most powerful figures has been banned from the sport for life for breaking bribery and corruption rules.

Ex-Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kwesi Nyantakyi also broke conflict of interest rules, Fifa said.

Football's world governing body launched an investigation after Nyantakyi was pictured taking $65,000 (£48,000) from an undercover reporter.

Fifa fined Nyantakyi 500,000 Swiss francs (£390,000). Nyantakyi was also vice-president of the Confederation of African Football and a member of the Fifa Council.

He stepped down as GFA president in June after film of him allegedly accepting a "cash gift" was made public.

The film was captured by journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas and BBC Africa's investigations unit, Africa Eye, received exclusive access to the footage.

Nyantakyi later resigned his Caf and Fifa posts but claimed the footage had been doctored to falsely incriminate him.

The adjudicatory chamber of Fifa's ethics committee said the ban for life applied to "all football-related activities at both national and international level".

Kanye West Warned Not To Date Kim Kardashian After Her S*x Tape Revelation

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian West has spoken about the early days of her relationship with Kanye West and how he was warned not to date her, fearing that her s-x tape would damage his career.

Now husband and wife, they have been through plenty of ups and downs but it seems that they wouldn't have stood a chance of a life together if Kanye had listened to his friends and advisors.

During an interview with Van Jones on Be Woke Vote, Kim spoke candidly about the time before she got together with her rapper hubby and that, despite 'knowing him forever', didn't believe they would get together due to her chequered past.

Kim, 38, said: "We’ve been through a lot together. You know, I’ve known him for 15 years now. Became friends with him maybe in like 2006, 2007.

"Met him in like [2002 or 2003]. I’ve known him forever.

"He’s put himself up against the world for me when everyone told him, ‘You cannot date a girl with a sex tape. You cannot date a reality show girl. This is going to ruin your career.’

"Everyone told him that."

Kanye is not someone who has often taken the path that most people have told him to, so pairing up with Kim was always on the cards.

Kim said that Kanye was 'not going to be told what to do' and she said she would, "always love and appreciate him for always standing up for me."

In a glut of gushing praise for her controversial other half, Kim said that he was, "always there to hold my hand and lift me up higher and give me the confidence."

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has been married for four years to Kanye and they have three children - daughters North, 5, and Chicago, 9 months as well as son, Saint, 2.

U.S.-Less: The iPhone’s eSIM Slot Isn’t Compatible with Any U.S. Carrier Yet

The iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR are the first iPhones to have dual SIM slots, which just became usable with the iOS 12.1 update. The thing is, the second SIM slot is still pretty useless in the U.S.

While the new iPhones use a traditional SIM slot for the primary SIM card (as they always have), the secondary slot uses the much newer eSIM. And while the option to set up your second carrier is already present in iOS 12.1, all the major U.S. carriers have pushed back support for this new tech.

Apparently, AT&T is pushing back support for eSIM because of incompatibility with visual voicemail. Verizon is delaying support because data on its network drops to an unusable 2G connection when used with the new iPhones. T-Mobile told PCMag that it’s still working to add support. All three are said to have it ready to roll by year’s end, though.

Sprint isn’t even on Apple’s compatibility list in the first place, but the carrier says it’s working to bring eSIM support at some point in the future.

The good news is that if you use the second SIM slot for an international carrier, it may already work. You can hit up Apple’s support page for full compatibility info.

We’ll End Shiites’ Protests, IGP Promises

The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, on Wednesday promised to put an end to the protests by members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria that has left some people dead and properties destroyed within the Federal Capital Territory.

Idris made the promise in an interview with State House correspondents shortly after joining others to witness the inauguration of the 2019 Armed Forces Day Emblem at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

“We have made some major deployments, and all l can say is that we want to appeal to everybody to cooperate with us to end these crises and by the Grace of God, we will bring the protests to an end,” the police boss said.

When asked why security agents resorted to the use of maximum force to quell the protests, Idris explained that “the agents were responding to the threats against the security of lives and property within the FCT. It is our responsibilities to take care of security.”

The IGP gave an indication that about 400 members of the group who were arrested on Tuesday would appear in court on Wednesday.

“You know that when we make arrests, the next thing is to take them before the law courts.

“We are going to take them before the law court today (Wednesday). This could be the Magistrate’s Court or Federal High Court,” he said.

Idris also said the Federal Government was not ruling out dialogue with stakeholders as one of the ways of ending the protests.

“We are liaising with major stakeholders, major religious groups in this country.

“I think we need to do something to end these crises as soon as possible and by the Grace of God we will end the crises soon,” he added.

Neymar Faces Six Years In Prison After Court Reexamines Controversial Santos To Barcelona Move

Brazilian sensation Neymar could face up to six years in prison as courts re-examine his move from boyhood club Santos to Barcelona.

Last year former Barcelona superstar Neymar was ordered to stand trial by the Spanish court for fraud regarding his transfer to the Nou Camp.

The Brazilian made the switch to Catalonia in 2013 after four years after progressing through the ranks as a youngster.

Reports from Spain now suggest the national court has decided at the last minute to refer to the Criminal Chamber in front of three magistrates.

The fact that three judges will sit on the case means sentences can be extended past five years as they are deemed as more serious.

Barcelona newspaper Lavanguardia report they have had access to a ruling which reveals that if found guilty, the sentence could be anything from four to six years.

But the move to next chamber of the Spanish court will delay the start of the case.

The move has been the subject of an investigation since January 2014, with Barcelona and president Josep Maria Bartomeu being charged with tax fraud.
