A suspected kidnapper, Nnamdi Ethelbert, Ogidi, has been arrested by detectives attached to the Anti-kidnapping Squad, Imo State Police Command.

Ogidi has a record of kidnapping elderly women.

The 34-year-old confessed to the police that he and his gang members who are currently at large have abducted several persons out of which 15 of them were elderly women.

Ogidi was arrested after he kidnapped a 74-year-old Regina Nkwocha, from Umuanyika, Ngorokpala Local Government Area of Imo state.

They had entered negotiation for N20million ransom when detectives busted their hideout at Umuaguma in Owerri west, Imo state on May 23, 2018. Ogidi was arrested while the other members of his gang escaped.

The Imo state Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi told Sun that the suspect, Ogidi popularly known as Bori and his gang members have been on the wanted list of the police over several cases of kidnapping.

The Police Commissioner explained that back in November 29, 2017, Ogidi and his gang kidnapped Adulphus Akagha aged 94; on May 7, 2018, they kidnapped 65 -year-old Dorothy Nkwo and demanded for N5million ransom.

She was later released after the family paid N500, 000.

He stated that Ogidi had successfully kidnapped Mrs. Nkwocha and was negotiating for a N20million ransom when detectives led by Supol Sani Ahmed stormed their hideout and rescued the victim.

At the police station, Ogidi confessed that he joined the gang of kidnappers five years ago. “I am from Imo State and after dropping out of senior secondary school, I learnt how to become a mechanic.

“Along the line, I met bad friends who initiated me into the deadly cult group known as Debam fraternity. Most of them were into one bad thing or the other, so it was easy for me to join a gang of kidnappers who are also members of the cult.

“We derive pleasure in kidnapping elderly women and while their family members will be running around for ransom, we will take turns to rape the women.

“Our hideout is at Egbema local government. We prefer elderly women because it is easier to control them and their family members are always in a hurry to pay for their release” he said.

Ogidi begged all the elderly women that they had kidnapped to forgive him.

“I know that we have made a lot of money from kidnapping but because of the trauma that those women who are old enough to be my mother went through, I am sincerely sorry. I still hope that the police will arrest the others because I cannot face the consequence of our action alone,” he said.

Obasanjo's Ex-Wife Speaks On Her Son's Troubled Marriage

When true Prophets see things and give a warning, those who don't even know their left from right with regards to spiritual issues will try to downplay it. When the troubles begin, that's when they start running. Sigh!

An ex-wife of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Taiwo, has stated that her son Olujonwo Obasanjo's wife Tope is bent on destroying him.

Recall that Olujonwo had about a week ago dragged his wife, Tope, who is the daughter of businessman, Chief Kessington Adebutu, before the Ogun State Judicial Service Commission and a Lagos State Magistrate’s Court sitting in Igbosere, over allegations of domestic violence, intimidation and threat to his life.

He said on one occasion, his wife slapped him twice and that she was emotionally unstable, aggressive and ready to attack him in the head anytime. He therefore asked the court for an order directing his wife “to stay apart pending when critical issues in the marriage of the parties are determined,” among other prayers.

But in her counter-affidavit, Tope denied being emotionally unstable, saying it was her husband who subjected her to emotional and psychological hardship by abandoning her in his father’s house and rendering himself incommunicado.

She also alleged that he treated her with cruelty and that he was at an unknown location for drug rehabilitation between the end of January and second week of March 2018.

Meanwhile, her mother, Mrs. Rosemary Adebutu, also alleged that Mrs. Obasanjo collected N4m from her husband, popularly known as Baba Ijebu.

But responding to the allegations, the wife of the former president told Punch that she never took any money from Adebutu and that it was untrue that she and her son were drug addicts, as alleged by Baba Ijebu’s wife.

She said, “I heard they said I took money from him. Chief Adebutu is alive and he can testify whether I collected money from him or not. If I had taken money from him, would I still be able to talk? I never took any money from Chief Adebutu. My son’s wife is just bent on destroying him.

“They also said my son and I are drug addicts, which is a lie. What is the problem if a man wants to quit a marriage that would send him to his grave early?

“They also said my son got a contract worth N35m from Segun Adebutu and that he ran away with the money, which is not true. It is true that he was awarded the job, but he did not abandon the job. He had started executing the job but it was when this problem arose that they called my son to threaten him that there would be war if he decided to leave the marriage. They said they would make sure they finished my son and his wife had said she would destroy him.

“The unfortunate aspect is Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, who has done nothing over this issue, and he’s the one prodding my son’s wife and her mother into continuing this because he wanted my son and his wife to stay in the marriage, so that my son could become collateral for him to keep having access to the Adebutu family.

“I leave them all to God because He’s the one who knows how to reveal things done in the secret and pay people back for their deeds. They think I’m not okay, but everything I warned them against is happening. However, I won’t let them destroy my son.”

Choosing Chelsea over Man United made my Father angry - Mikel

Super Eagles captain and midfielder, John Mikel Obi has revealed that joining Chelsea didn't go down well with his father because he wanted him to join Manchester United.

Mikel was part of the Super Eagles squad that recently crashed out of the 2018 World Cup in Russia after the team failed to get the needed draw against Argentina in their final group D game on Tuesday.

The Nigerian international caused some transfer tussle between Manchester United and Chelsea before he eventually penned a deal with the London club.

However, in an article written by Mikel in the players' tribune, he stated that though his father wasn't happy with his decision to join Chelsea, the family are now reaping from his decision.

"Well, my Dad wasn’t too pleased about what happened either. He wanted me to go to Manchester United because he loved Alex Ferguson," he said. "Back home in Nigeria, a lot of people were saying I should go to United because of how well they work with young players, whereas Chelsea just bought superstars.

"And it’s true, I was only 18 years old and Chelsea had players like Lampard, Ballack and Makelele in midfield. A lot of people in Nigeria doubted that I could even make the Chelsea team if I went there.

"So … why did I turn down the biggest club in the world?

"I’ll tell you what happened. I had all these people on both sides fighting over me. Agents, managers, strangers, guys handing me papers. I had Sir Alex Ferguson calling me on the phone on one side.

"And I had Roman Abramovich on the other side, putting me up in London, hiding me somewhere where only a few people knew where I was. It was really confusing, and I was a kid, you know?

"After a while, someone from FIFA gave me a phone call. They said, “Listen, we know you’re young and you have these two clubs fighting over you. We can’t decide for you. You can only go where you want. You have to tell us.”

"I thought about it for a long time. It was the biggest decision of my life.

"You know what made my mind up? Chelsea had signed three other players from Nigeria along with me. They were staying with me at the house in London to keep me company. These guys … their lives depended on the decision I was making.

"If I went to United, they were gone. If I went to Chelsea, they were going to have a career. No matter how long it lasted, that was important to me. Just to give them a chance, you know?

"I chose Chelsea, and four lives changed that day."

Kanye Sells His SoHo Apartment…

Kanye West's neighbor in NYC just struck what looks like a sweet deal to buy the rapper's SoHo apartment.

The pad is actually two adjacent spaces Ye purchased back in 2004 and 2006 -- one for $1.89 million and other for $1.25 million ... so, $3.14 million total.

One is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, while the other was a studio -- and Kanye eventually combined both of them into one large unit.

Well, Kanye unloaded the combined and remodeled crib for $3 million in May. Considering he paid more and then clearly put work into the place, it seems like he might have lost some dough on the deal.

However sources say, the buyer is someone who already has an apartment in the same building ... so, maybe Ye gave him a friendly neighbor deal.

Court Remands Ex-Ondo PDP Chairman‎, Faboyede, For Alleged N500m Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes on Friday arraigned a former Chairman of the Ondo State Peoples Democratic Party, Clement Faboyede, for an alleged fraud of N500m.

Faboyede was arraigned alongside the Ondo State Coordinator of President Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation in 2015, Modupe Adetokunbo, before the Federal High Court in Lagos.

The three charges pressed against them border on conspiracy and money laundering.

The EFCC claimed that ‎in the charges that Faboyede and Adetokunbo received a cash sum of N500m from one Owolanke Michael in the build-up to the 2015 general election.

Faboyede was accused of making N500m cash payment to the Ondo State Election Committee of the PDP‎ without through any financial institution.

The prosecuting counsel for the EFCC, E‎kene Iheanacho, said the defendants committed the offence on March 27, 2015, adding that they acted contrary to Section 18 of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2011 and are liable to punishment under Section 16(2) of the same Act.

But upon their arraignment on Friday before Justice Saliu Saidu, Faboyede and Adetokunbo pleaded not guilty.

The judge, while adjourning the case till September 17, 2018, ordered that the defendants should be remanded in the prison custody.

Meanwhile, the PDP, while reacting to the arraignment in a statement by its South-West  Zonal Publicity Secretary, Ayo Fadaka, said Faboyede and Adetokunbo committed no fraud.

The party said, “It is imperative to clearly underscore the fact that the N500m upon which this case is built is the campaign fund released by the party to the Ondo State PDP through the Fidelity Bank and not in any manner a fraudulent issue.

“It was these gentlemen who signed and withdrew the money on behalf of the party and this is the reason why the EFCC is prosecuting them.

“While we are not interested in the politics surrounding this matter, we however wish to state categorically that the APC is merely abusing the privileges of power to persecute the PDP endlessly, this we consider pedestrian and cheap.

“We reiterate very firmly that these gentlemen are no criminals as they only acted on behalf of the party. It is the PDP that is on trial here and as a party, we continue to repose confidence in the ability of the judiciary to adjudicate on this matter.”‎

What Lies, Deception Are Doing To Marriages

It is amazing that even the simplest, smallest of lies erodes the fabric of a relationship. Think about it: if a person is capable of lying to you on something small, what will stop them from lying to you on something big?

On the other hand, if your spouse is capable of lying to you on something large, with broad ramifications, why would they not lie to you on a smaller matter? Trust is decimated by lies.

Deception in marriage is disastrous!

We all know it and yet most of us have lied at one point or another in our lives. You are aware that lies have a way of being eventually exposed, and yet you still try to get away with it. Why fooling yourself? We know that deception will ruin a relationship, and yet we deceive ourselves into believing that perhaps we can get away with it or, if caught, the impact won’t be significant.

As I counsel couples, deception is often part of the troubled fabric of their marriage. Whether it is something as simple as hiding money or perhaps lying about how much money was spent, or something far more egregious such as Adultery, deception send a electric shock wave through the marriage.

Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who act faithfully are his delight.”
(Proverbs 12:22)

Why do you lie? The simplest answer is that you are ashamed of something you have done and hope to not have to answer for it. But you will answer for it. A day of reckoning will come, sooner than you think.

Live right for your own good, marriage is not something you can play with as you wish - it is your destiny that is at stake.

NUPENG Threatens Nationwide Strike Over 300 Sacked Oil Workers

There are indications that Nigerians may experience another round of fuel scarcity soon as the Nigerian Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers on Friday threatened to embark on a nationwide strike.

NUPENG said the planned strike was as a result of the alleged sacking of 300 of its members by some oil companies.

Chairman of the union, Port Harcourt Zone, Mr. Alex Agwanwor, who said the proposed strike would be indefinite, gave a seven-day ultimatum for the sacked workers to be recalled or leave the union with no choice but to withdraw its services.

Agwanwor urged government at all levels and the Ministry of Labour and Productivity to prevail on the firms to reinstate the workers.

“A seven-day ultimatum is hereby issued for unlawfully disengaging our union members. Over 300 of our members were disengaged by some oil companies. We will embark on an indefinite strike if these companies do not reinstate these workers.

“If by midnight of Monday, July 9, 2018, the concerns of the union are not addressed by these companies, the union shall have no choice but to embark on an indefinite industrial action until our grievances are addressed.

“We are calling and directing tanker drivers, drilling workers and pump attendants to withdraw their services if there is no counter-notice to this,” the NUPENG chairman added.

Agwanwor alleged that the oil workers were laid off because they refused to sign a document that would turn them to casual workers.

Meanwhile, the union at the national level has expressed its support for the planned indefinite strike, even as it sympathised with the families of victims of the recent fire incident in Lagos, which claimed nine lives.

Final Year Student Who's A "Runs Girl" Cuts Off Man's Pen!s Over Money After S*x

This is what our society has turned into, thanks to social media. Many ladies in the university and major cities today are prostitutes, guys now sleep with different shades of women like it's nothing as they are ever ready to sell their body for money. Hmmm!

A final year student of the Imo State University (IMSU), has been arrested by security operatives for partially chopping off the manhood of a man after their escapades...

Here's how Chimeremeze Uzondu narrated the story;

"Just this morning, I dash at Fidelity bank Douglas road for transaction, only to see a girl breathing and panting like a dying cow, I asked what happened, I was told by an eyewitness that the girl chopped off a guy's manhood.

Then I pressed further to get the real story which was accounted as:
The girl called the victim late in the evening yesterday that she wants him around her, the guy asked her to come, she requested the guy to come and pick her up in her hostel at IMSU, with his car, the guy went and picked her, after they have done all and had s*x, around 4am this morning the girl took knife and cut his manhood, but the manhood did not fall out complete, before the guy woke up, and raised alarm.

The brothers came out and held the girl, and rushed the guy to hospital, after sewing the manhood and other medical logistics, the bill got to N300k plus, they asked the girl to pay, she accepted, and took them to fidelity bank to make withdrawal, and when they got to bank, the girl refused withdrawing from the ATM, and this raised the curiosity of men around to know what was going on.

The girl when asked of her own account of the story, accepted the afore told to be true, but insisted they agreed on N6k payment for the night, and after the deal the guy told her to wait when morning breaks, but that she became angry and devil took over her which made her to cut his manhood.

Just in a twinkle of an eye the whole bank environment was crowded by youths asking the bank to release the girl that she must be lynched but the bank security resisted the idea and called in the police to arrest the lady.

When asked if she is a student of IMSU, she accepted that she is in final year, but refused to tell her name and department in the said university."

Fuel Scarcity Looms As NUPENG Issues 7-Day Ultimatum

An industrial action may be looming in the oil industry as the Port Harcourt zone of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has issued a 7-day ultimatum to one of the oil companies operating in the zone for alleged unlawful disengagement of some workers.

Chairman of the Port Harcourt zone of NUPENG, Alex Agwanwor at a media briefing in Port Harcourt said the ultimatum was an outcome of an extensive deliberation by the union over the matter.

Agwanwor said three hundred of their members were unlawfully disengaged by the company, stressing that the move was against labour laws.

He called on the government to prevail on the company to rescind the decision, failure which their members in the zone will withdraw their services indefinitely.

“After an exhaustive meeting and deliberations by the Zonal Council of this union covering the 10 states in the South have resolved that a 7-day ultimatum has been issued for the unlawful disengagement and anti labour practices of some oil serving companies operating within the Port Harcourt Zone.

“The leadership of the Union wish to register our displeasure over the unwarranted disengagement of our members on board of a rig belonging to one of the oil servicing companies and the hostage taking of the workers by the management of the company.

“The management’s action is anti labour, uncivilized and condemnable and without giving recourse to their agreement they went ahead to terminate the contract of over three hundred of our members.

“We hereby give 7 days ultimatum to OES Deep See Offshore and other anti union companies who are fond of violating Labour Laws.

“If nothing is done by these companies to reverse their anti labour practices we will embark on an indefinite strike and we will be left with no choice than to withdraw our service.

“We will make sure this affects everywhere our members are involved including refineries and oil depots,” Alex said.

On his part, the National Vice President of NUPENG, Bassey Harry expressed the support of the National leadership of the union to the decision of the zone.

My Son’s Wife Bent On Destroying Him –Obasanjo’s Ex-Wife

An ex-wife of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Taiwo, has responded to the claims made by her son’s wife, Tope, saying she (Tope) was bent on destroying her son, Olujonwo Obasanjo.

Olujonwo had about a week ago dragged his wife, Tope, who is the daughter of billionaire businessman, Chief Kessington Adebutu, before the Ogun State Judicial Service Commission and a Lagos State Magistrate’s Court sitting in Igbosere, over allegations of domestic violence, intimidation and threat to his life.

But responding to the allegations, the wife of the former president told Saturday Punch that she never took any money from Adebutu and that it was untrue that she and her son were drug addicts, as alleged by Baba Ijebu’s wife.
