How to Add a Contact to Favorites on iPhone

Phone app

The Phone app on your iPhone has a convenient “Favorites” section where you can find your most important contacts. Here’s how to choose which contacts appear here.

You can also set Do Not Disturb so that your favorite contacts can always reach you—even if other incoming phone calls won’t ring your iPhone. This can be vital in an emergency.

Favorites have been around since the very early days of the iPhone, but that likely means that you’ve forgotten that they exist. And that’s a real shame because this feature is so useful.

How to Add a Contact to Favorites

To add a contact to favorites, open the Phone app—the one with the green phone icon—and tap the “Favorites” button before tapping the “+” button in the top-left corner.

Tap Favorites followed by the Plus symbol

Next, find the contact that you want to add and tap their name.

Tap the name of the person you want to add as a favorite

You will now be shown all of the types of entries you can create for the contact you selected. Those include “Message,” “Call,” “Video,” and “Mail.” Tap the type of favorite you want to create. When tapped, that is the action that will be performed when the favorite is activated. For this how-to, let’s select “Message.”

''Buhari Likely To Dissolve Cabinet Before May 29''

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity Femi Adesina has given hints that President Muhammadu might dissolve his cabinet before his inauguration on May 29.

Speaking on Arise Television on Thursday, Adesina assured that, unlike in 2015, Buhari would not spend a long time before choosing his members of his new cabinet.

Asked if the president would reshuffle his cabinet, Adesina replied: “One thing about governance is that the first mandate is for four years.

“That mandate elapses on May 29, and shortly before May 29, the president is likely going to officially dissolve his government. That is the way it is usually done.

“He says thank you to everybody that he has called to work with him and then he dissolves that government officially.

“Then when he is inaugurated for a second time, he now reconstitutes a government; he appoints his personal aides; he forms his cabinet, he appoints other people to fill other positions.”

There has been speculation that President Buhari will reshuffle his cabinet which took him six months to unveil.

"Free Lagos" Press Briefing: Police Storm Venue, Fire Shots

There was tension at the premises of Lagos Airport Hotel in Ikeja, venue of a “Free Lagos” press conference on Thursday. The press conference is being organised by a group known as ‘Orange Movement for a Free Lagos State’ with the theme, “Setting Lagos free from Bourdillon Bondage, #OtogeLagos”.

The conveners of the group comprise of former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Olisa Agbakoba, Spokesperson of Afenifere Group, Mr. Yinka Odumakin and Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Why is an APC man joining others to Free Lagos from Tinubu?

While some participants had already seated inside the Oranmiyan Hall where the event was to hold, scores of other participants who stormed the Airport Hotel gate were stopped by a detachment of armed policemen mobilised to the scene.

The policemen did not allow anybody to come inside the hall. In the ensuing drama, policemen fired several shots to disperse the crowd with people running helter-skelter within the premises.

It was not clear while policemen in about 10 vehicles stormed the venue, but sources said the action was to prevent the press conference from holding.

But the state’s police spokesman, Chike Oti, said the command got an intelligence report that some hoodlums were trying to hijack the press briefing.
He said the police cannot stop anybody from using the Airport Hotel facilities being a business environment, adding that the command is also obliged to protect lives and properties of the citizens.

As at the time of filing this report, the participants have vacated the hall and are currently hanging around the premises as the drama continues.

One of the conveners, Comrade Mark Adebayo said they would sue the police for the siege.

"My Husband's Life Is In Danger" - Wife of Atiku's Spokesman Cries Out

Recall that Mr. Austin Usman Okai, Atiku's campaign spokesperson, Kogi state chapter, was abducted by masked gun men on the eve of the presidential and national assembly elections. It is over a week now and the where about of the man is yet unknown.

Speaking to journalists on Thursday, his wife lamented about the nonchalance of elders in the state to intervene and help find her husband and probably rescue him.

The gun men trailed him to his house in Abuja, flashed ID cards believed to be of the DSS.

They would later tell his wife that they were acting on the Kogi state government's order and whisked him away in a van. All efforts to locate the young politician have been fruitless so far.

His friends and family members and a lot of Kogites have launched a #FreeAustinOkai campaign on social media.

"I am so scared and worried about the safety of my husband," Mrs. Bridget Austin Okai said.

Body Cameras Expose How Buhari's Election Was Rigged

Atiku Abubakar, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 presidential election, is confident of victory when he formally institutes an election petition case against President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC)

One major reason for this is the wide-ranging availability of video evidence
to back up his claims of non-voting, voter intimidation, ballot box snatching and destruction, illegal vote cancellation and deliberate voter disenfranchisement.

Professor Mahmood Yakubu, Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), declared Buhari the winner of the election at exactly 4:39am after polling APC 15,191,847 votes to Atiku’s 11,262,978.

However, Atiku has already rejected the result, alleging, among others, the suppression of votes in his strongholds — an action he described as “so apparent and amateurish” and one that makes him “ashamed as a Nigerian that such could be allowed to happen”.

He consequently rejected “the result of the February 23, 2019 sham election” and vowed to challenge it in court.

“We’re going to court; that’s the major thing we can do now except we’re looking towards chaos, and nobody wants chaos,” one of his associates, who requested not to be named, told SaharaReporters.

“And again, there’s a lot wrong with the election figures. Cancelled votes in Kano were over 2million; then the difference between accredited voters and actual voters is over 700,000 there as well, which shows there are a lot of discrepancies in the figures. We are still working with some of the documents, and I know that for like three days they’ve been gathering more and more.”

He also said a lot of the claims being made by Atiku and the PDP were backed up by video tapings, as the party prepared in advance for the rigging by sending agents with hidden cameras to the field.

“There are a lot of videos, of course, because there were body cameras on some of the agents that went to the polling units and ward collation centres,” he said.
“Those ones will be tendered as evidence; and there are some other ones I won’t want you to be privy to for now.

“Atiku has set forth to go to the Supreme Court, so he is not even thinking of the tribunal. Of course we’ll start with the tribunal but we know that once the tribunal gives a judgement, the President will definitely appeal against it if the judgement is against him. The game plan Atiku has given us is for the Supreme Court. He is going all out; he is going totally for it. Atiku is not someone that will start something and will stop halfway without seeing it off till the very end. He’s going all out.”

Man Seeks Divorce, Alleges Frequent Beating By Wife

An Ibadan-based man, Samuel Adedeji, on Thursday, told a Mapo Customary Court in Ibadan to terminate the year-old union between him and his wife, Temiloluwa over threat to his life.

In his petition to the court, Adedeji who lived at Ologuneru area of Ibadan accused his wife of frequently beating him and distracting him from his ministry.

“I think that I actually got it wrong by not making proper spiritual consultations before I went to the altar with Temiloluwa as a husband.

“For too long, I have had to cope with all sorts of humiliation, insults, abuses in addition to emotional and psychological torture which I have often suffered from her.

“When Temiloluwa’s troublemaking reached its peak, she started beating me and tearing off my clothes.

“Recently, she gave me three dirty slaps in the night and was attempting to stab me to death that same night when I had to run for my dear life.

“Temiloluwa has no regard for anybody.

“Now, she has left my home and I need to move on too.

“There is no more love between both of us, Samuel said.

However, the respondent was conspicuously absent in the court when she was called to respond to the allegations levelled against her.

The court’s bailiff informed the Arbitrators, led by the President, Chief Ademola Odunade that he had served notices of court hearing on Temiloluwa and that she deliberately ignored the notices.

After careful consideration, Odunade dissolved the union, citing threat to life as the reason.

He ordered that the copy of the judgment be served on the respondent in order for her to be aware of the latest in the case.

Four Ebola Patients Missing After Attack On Eastern Congo Clinic

Four patients with Ebola escaped when a clinic in eastern Congo was attacked by unknown assailants, the Ministry of Health said today.

“Four patients confirmed to have the deadly virus who fled during the attack are still missing,’’ the ministry said, as well as others who were suspected of being infected.

The ministry said that the attack was the second on a health clinic within a few days, as aid agencies and government battle to contain the virus in an area rife with militia groups and public distrust.

So far 553 people have died of Ebola in the outbreak in eastern Congo, which began shortly after the country’s government in June declared an end to another outbreak in the west of the country.

Authorities and aid groups have been struggling to do their jobs in the dangerous eastern region where numerous militias operate, most fighting over the Central African country’s rich natural resources.

According to the health ministry, over 84,000 people have been vaccinated against the virus since August.

Ebola is a highly infectious disease that causes a fever and often leads to massive internal bleeding and death.

How to Calculate a Z-Score Using Microsoft Excel

A Z-Score is a statistical value that tells you how many standard deviations a particular value happens to be from the mean of the entire data set. You can use AVERAGE and STDEV.S or STDEV.P formulas to calculate the mean and standard deviation of your data and then use those results to determine the Z-Score of each value.

What is a Z-Score and what do the AVERAGE, STDEV.S, and STDEV.P functions do?

A Z-Score is a simple way of comparing values from two different data sets. It is defined as the number of standard deviations away from the mean a data point lies. The general formula looks like this:

=(DataPoint-AVERAGE(DataSet))/STDEV(DataSet)

Here’s an example to help clarify. Say you wanted to compare the test results of two Algebra students taught by different teachers. You know the first student got a 95% on the final exam in one class, and the student in the other class scored 87%.

At first glance, the 95% grade is more impressive, but what if the teacher of the second class gave a more difficult exam? You could calculate the Z-Score of each student’s score based on the average scores in each class and the standard deviation of the scores in each class. Comparing the Z-Scores of the two students could reveal that the student with the 87% score did better in comparison to the rest of their class than the student with the 98% score did in comparison to the rest of their class.

The first statistical value you need is the ‘mean’ and Excel’s “AVERAGE” function calculates that value. It simply adds up all of the values in a cell range and divides that sum by the number of cells containing numerical values (it ignores blank cells).

The other statistical value we need is the ‘standard deviation’ and Excel has two different functions to calculate the standard deviation in slightly different ways.

Previous versions of Excel only had the “STDEV” function, which calculates the standard deviation while treating the data as a ‘sample’ of a population. Excel 2010 broke that into two functions that calculate the standard deviation:

  • STDEV.S: This function is identical to the previous “STDEV” function. It calculates the standard deviation while treating the data as a ‘sample’ of a population. A sample of a population might be something like the particular mosquitoes collected for a research project or cars that were set aside and used for crash safety testing.
  • STDEV.P: This function calculates the standard deviation while treating the data as the entire population. An entire population would be something like all mosquitoes on Earth or every car in a production run of a specific model.

Which you choose is based on your data set. The difference will usually be small, but the result of the “STDEV.P” function will always be smaller than the result of the “STDEV.S” function for the same data set. It is a more conservative approach to assume there is more variability in the data.

Let’s Look at an Example

Drake's Father Says I’m 100% With R Kelly + He’s Supporting Jussie Smollett Too

Dennis Graham, Drake’s father was chatting about his new single to Variety when he was asked to give his thoughts on R&B superstar R Kelly and Empire star Smollett.

'He’s a good friend of mine. I wish him the best. I hate that it’s happening to him. There’s a reason why women come out after the fact. He has my support 100%,' Graham said of Kelly who was released from custody on Monday after posting $100,00 bail.

Hours before his release, Kelly, 52, pleaded not guilty to 10 counts of aggravated criminal s-x abuse against four victims, three of them minors.

In the controversy surrounding Smollett, Graham said that the 36-year-old actor 'has been misunderstood'.

'As a matter of fact, they know that. That story that came out about Jussie in Chicago is not true about Jussie. Jussie is a friend of mine, also. They have totally reconstructed his story,' Graham said.

Smollett was arrested last week and charged with filing a false police report of a hate crime involving two Nigerian brothers.

Photos: Woman Covers Her Face In Period Blood To Show They're 'Beautiful' & 'Powerful'

Demetra Nyx spent years hiding her periods from boyfriends and being extremely embarrassed every time she came on. But when a change in her contraception meant she had to start keeping a closer eye on her cycle, she started to see things very differently.

She grew to love her time of the month, saying it's "beautiful and powerful", and wanted to share her new appreciation with women around the world.

She started collecting her blood and one day had an "impulse" to smear it across her face and share photos online.

She said: "We hold so much shame in our bodies, and most of us do not realise it until we intentionally explore it. Our periods are an incredibly magical time of month that holds immense power, and our society keeps us away from that as much as possible.

"I am endlessly fascinated by my body and its patterns. Many people talk about the parts of the cycle being like the seasons, with the energy of ovulation being like summer, and the energy of menstruation being like winter. I think that's generally true, but I've also found it's very individual.

"Sharing pictures of blood on my face and body was just an impulse I was creating a series to help women connect with their menstrual cycle, and I thought it would be fun. We can also do things like paint with it or pour it into the earth. I believe it's a beautiful thing to get comfortable with touching your own blood.

"There is a tremendous amount of power in learning that we can experience pleasure from the parts of our bodies we deem in society as 'disgusting'. If we can love the unlovable, all of life opens up to us. We spend a lot of time learning to control our bodies; instead I believe in learning from our bodies.

"My blood to me has become fun, beautiful, and powerful, and playing with it brings me closer to myself."

Demetra, who lives in Los Angeles and works as a s-x coach, had her first period when she was 12.
