Python survives ordeal after being found frozen solid on pavement

A python had a narrow escape after being found 'frozen solid' on the pavement in central London last week.
The 3.5ft-long Royal Python was found in Hammersmith at 2pm on Thursday and was 'frozen stiff' and close to death.
Workers at the Mayhew Animal Home rushed to pick up the snake after a Good Samaritan handed it into cops at Fulham Police Station.
A spokesman for the Mayhew Animal Home said the python is now 'recovering' - and has now warmed up - after being plonked on a radiator bed designed for cats.
he fluffy bed attaches to a radiator, with the heat going round the metal frame, warming the entire bed.
A spokesman for the animal home said: "The python, which we have called Ebenezer, was close to death because it was so cold."

Gillian Notton, the head of animal welfare at the centre, said: "'It was lethargic and freezing. He was very cold but otherwise seems to be in good health.
"If it had been left out another night it would have died.
"We've put it in a warm place to get heated so it's now thawing and chilling out beside the radiator. Its temperature is getting back to normal."
Royal Pythons are not venomous, instead killing prey by constricting it - and can grow to 6ft in length.
