Lecturers Wife Denies Knowing Her Husband And Son Had Been Defiling Her Dead Niece

Following the report on the lecturer and his son that were accused of raping a 13 year old girl, Elizabeth Ochanya until she died, wife of the the lecturer has claimed that she didn't know about the sexual abuse under her nose for the past five years.

Recall that the little girl, Ochanya, died in Benue State after battling with Vesicovaginal fistula (VVF) and other health complications after many years of sexual abuse from her aunt's husband and son. While 51 year old Andrew Ugbokolo, the Head of Department, Catering and Hotel Management at the Benue State Polytechnic and his son, Victor Inalegwu Ogboja, a final year student of Animal Production at the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, were being accused of consistently defiling Ochanya since she was 8 years old.

Mr Ugbokolo who was arraigned before a court in Makurdi for criminal conspiracy and rape, was released on bail. However, human right activist Ukan Kurugh who later disclosed that the lecturer was rearrested by the police on Tuesday, at the polytechnic premises said that he was rearrested on charges of culpable homicide.

While Nigerian Journalist, Akume Raphael who doesn't believe the wife's story that she was not aware that her husband and son were sexually abusing her niece, on popular social media platform, Facebook wrote;

"On Ochanya's case, i am more Angry with the man's wife. How can she say she didn't know all this while that her husband was committing such atrocities under her roof?
What kind of a mother is she?

How do people get to even becoming a knight in the Catholic church? I wish this woman get more punishment than the man, one she is a woman, second a mother....".
