When members of Patriotism Advancement and Community Orientation Network (PACON) got wind of the incident, they visited the victim and her family on April 26th in the hospital where she was taken to unconscious after the gang left her in a pool of her own blood and with a damaged eye.
PACON had promised to assist the family of Lilian with the medical bills and to initiate a public campaign for financial support for Lilian should there be need for plastic surgery.
On the 24th of June, 2018, PACON was informed through a phone call from Mrs. Igbogi Progress (Lilian's mother) that Lilian had been penciled for a surgical operation on 26th of June, 2018. The amount needed for the operation was Three hundred thousand naira (300,000.00) at Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital (NDUTH).
The organization with the informed consent and approval of the parents through its social media handles appealed for financial assistance which the public responded to and on 27th of June, the sum of ₦265,000.00 was donated into Mrs. Igbogi Progress' account which was made public by the organization.
On the 28th of June, the parents withdrew Lilian from NDUTH due to want of medical equipment to carry out the said surgery to Ark Hospital in Yenagoa were the operation was successfully carried out for a fee of One hundred thousand naira (₦100,000.00).
