Female Student Raped And Stabbed To Death By Boyfriend's Stepbrother

A 23-year-old man has been arrested by the police in Kisumu for allegedly raping and killing his step-brother’s girlfriend.

According to report, the suspect, identified as Joseph Ayomo stabbed 21-year-old Beverline, a Kenyatta University student, to death on Wednesday at about 3am in Migosi Estate. The Third Year Hospitality and Tourism student, was stabbed in the stomach and on the head, by the suspect who also allegedly stabbed his 32-year-old step-brother, Evans Otieno, in the back and chest, but he was immediately rushed to Avenue Hospital for treatment and now in a stable condition.

While confirming the incident, the Central OCPD, Joseph Kiptum, stated that it is still remains unclear why the suspect, Ayomo who had stayed at Otieno’s place for three weeks while looking for employment killed his brother’s girlfriend.

He further disclosed that Ayomo allegedly raped Beverline before killing her after which he moved her body into a Toyota Noah car model, that belongs to Otieno but the police who arrived at the scene, later recovered and towed the vehicle to Central post, while the victim’s remains was moved to to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.

According to Beverline’s mother, Caren Atieno, who lives in Kisumu, she thought her daughter was in school, and was shocked to learn of her death.
